‘Emmys Recap – i.e. LADY DRESS TIME!!!’ by Maggy Keegan

Let’s just get to it ladyfriends – am I right?! Just like I like a man who doesn’t mess around, when it comes to lady dresses I just want a parade of fabulous. So let’s do this.

I originally picked out eighteen dresses to share with you. I’ve since narrowed it down to funny ladies looking pretty. So here is a parade some of my favorite funny lades in their gorgeous lady dresses:

CLAIRE DANES! Hitting it out of the park! AGAIN! With sparkle times! How beautiful are these girls? Just so put together and pretty. Makes me want to flat iron my hair on a semi-regular basis and buy more real lipsticks.

‘Fall Fashion’ by Maggy Keegan

Ladyfriends! How ARE you this week?! Getting into fall fashions while it’s still 80-90 degrees outside? Thinking about a boot/heel combo shoe purchase? Me too! Oh, you know me so well.

*boots shown not actual boots that were tried on. Although now contemplating these boots as well because of the super adorable button details.

Speaking of fabulous things, the Emmys are this weekend. I KNOW! Life just runs by you doesn’t it? To refresh us, I’ve picked out some of my favorite Emmy dresses from last year. Get out your popcorn and lady chocolates:

January Jones – she got a lot of criticism for this dress but I think it’s really beautiful. I don’t know how she sat it in but who cares. Gorgeous.

Tiny Fey – because we love her and what a stunner of a dress.

Eva Longoria – Structured. Not messing around. I’m almost scared of her in this dress. Almost. But my favoritest dress captured my hear the minute it came on-stage:

CLAIRE DANES! I mean come on. Now that’s a movie star (being a TV star) dress.

Sunday night I think you know where I’ll be and I think you’ll know what will be on my feet. It’s Cher re-enacting the WEST SIDE STORY BY HERSELF. It’s her one-man Hamlet. She plays all of the parts. All of them. There’s four different Man Chers. FOUR DIFFERENT MAN CHERS.

I can’t. It’s too much. I gotta dance this out. She falls in love, fights with and kills herself. It’s amazing. Thirteen minutes long. Remember when people sat and watch thirteen minute videos? ME EITHER.

That takes guts. And this is why we love Cher because only Cher would play all the goddamn parts in West Side Story.

So add a little sweatband to your hair. Or a feather earring. Or another don’t worry about it to your outfit. Because if Cher can play Tony AND Maria in West Side Story, a little feather earring is not going out on a limb.

LADIES! How ARE you this week?! Good, fabulous, back to school shopping it up? I find myself currently obsessed with chips and salsa. And tacos. And rice and beans. I can’t get enough. Somebody stop me! No, seriously somebody stop me.

Because of my recent foray into the land of Tex-Mex-Americana fabulosity I of course had to re-watch my favorite musical of all time. West Side Story.

STAY COOL BOOOOOOYYYEEEE! Look at all that leaping. That’s some impressive calf muscles there. Well done. As a result I’ve been snapping a lot and saying things like HA! and YEAH! And looking for crinolines.

I’ve also been googling Rita Moreno. I mean how can you not. Look at her. How beautiful are these shoulders!

Makes me want to take all my photos at dramatic angles. Which has reminded me that there’s nothing like putting a little drama in your outfit to make life more interesting. Like a nice red lipstick with an all black outfit or a really fabulous magenta belt with a navy don’t worry about it. Or maybe it’s simply a flower in your hair.

Why. Not. Just do it already. Am I right?! HA! YEAH! Ladies, I’m off to make more bad (but so good) food choices. Have a glorious week, wear something fabulous this weekend and remember, don’t let anyone hate on your fashion choices. Be bold. Be loud. Be proud. And most importantly, be a lady.

‘Take Care of Your Lady Bits’ by Maggy Keegan

YOU GUYS! Kim Kardashian got married this weekend. We need dress photos! Here’s a teaser of the People magazine I will break down and buy at a Ralphs on a Saturday night:

But what I really wanted to talk about today was your lady bits. Or my lady bits. Or lady bits in general. So let’s do this. Be prepared. I’m going to say bra a lot. Now I know a good bra is like a good red lipstick – you take the time and spend the money. You get yourself a good lady bits holder that keeps the ladies where they should be not where they are. But I have been in lady bits neglect.

So, I went to Nordstrom and had myself fitted. And girls - it was epiphany city! I learned I was COMPLETELY off on my bra size (ladies usually overestimate around the perimeter and underestimate in the cup size), nude bras have replaced white bras (how did I not know this?!) and Nordstrom is an amazing wonderland where people help you buy things. I swear to GOD it’s taken my lady bits from my waistline area to where they need to be. Go. To. Nordstrom. Getting fitted. Buy 5-6 new bras (and maybe a hot pink one – don’t worry about it!). You will not be disappointed.
